Aperio™ technology integration in the TECHFASS^® systems

The TECH FASS s.r.o. company in association with ASSA ABLOY Czech & Slovakia s.r.o. developed the first successful integration of the Aperio™ wireless technology with the electronic access control system.

The connection uses an extening RS 485 line of the xWGD 46(.IP) modules. It is possible to connect up to 4 Aperio™ modules to a single system module. This way the APS mini, APS mini Plus and APS 400 systems efficiently communicate with Aperio™ escutcheon or Aperio™ cylinder equipped with unit for wireless communication. The advantage of the solution is compatibility of used RFID technology (Mifare) and the system configuration and access rights management software. Thanks to an easy assembly not requiring any cabling usage from the reading device on the wall to the flap or doorframe the solution brings a significant expense savings.

Brief description of the Aperio™ technology

The heart of the Aperio™ technology is usage of Wi-Fi (Tri-Bee) wireless communication for short range (cca 5m), which connects the end point devices with their HUB controllers. In present time the Mifare technology is supported, other technologies support is in progress. The power supply is provided by a 3V battery type CR123.
